6/10/12
We were
woken by a very excited Mary-Anne who was busting with excitement and couldn't
wait for us to get out of bed to tell us her eldest child Jacinta had gotten
engaged. There were hugs all round and we danced a jig around the caravan park
to the news. Then we realised that we hadn't got dressed, so Karen and I raced
back to the caravan and dressed more appropriately.
After
breakfast we drove to the Railway Station and watched an original Ghan steam
train with original wooden carriages arrive at the station. It was the Pichi
Richi tourist train that runs from Port Augusta to Quorn, then returning to
Port Augusta in the afternoon.
From
there we went to the Wadlata Outback Centre at the Visitor Information Centre.
It is a very well presented exhibition that explained the geological origins of
the region and the hardships faced by the early explorers and settlers. We
spent about 3 hours in the Outback Centre as it had so much to view and learn.
We
returned to the caravan park about 3.30pm and started packing up as we were
leaving tomorrow. I sent Mary-Anne to church later in the evening as she had
been very nasty to me during the past few days and needed to confess her sins.
I sent Karen with her to make sure she did go.
