20/8/12
We left Augusta this morning and drove to Nannup where we had lunch in a park. Then we drove through lush green country on a windy road which was lined each side with wattle trees brilliantly displaying their bright yellow blossoms. We saw rapids in the Blackwood River as it flowed parallel to the road. Finally we arrived at Bridgetown which is famous as being the coldest town in the central south west of WA. We stopped at the Visitor Information Centre and obtained information on the only caravan park in town. Strangely, we selected this one for our stay tonight. After we set up, Karen and Mary-Anne went for a walk along the Blackwood River and through some thick bush. I stayed and amused two wood ducks that came for a visit and some food.
